World Alzheimer’s Day seeks to highlight the difficulties faced by people living with dementia and the role of their carers. Events are taking place all over the world to mark the day. Here in the UK, special ‘Memory Walks’ are being held up and down the country throughout September. Walks range from one mile to 26 miles. It’s the perfect excuse to get out there and see some wonderful rural hotspots at their best as summer gives way to autumn. And you’ll be helping to raise a little extra money for Alzheimer’s Society too, the UKs leading support and research charity for people with dementia and those who care for them.

Thousands of people took part last year. To find a Memory Walk near you, visit .
