When You Most Need Your Travel Insurance

The recent collapse of yet another holiday provider has hit the headlines, and with it comes some desperately sad stories of people losing their highly anticipated vacations. There are also tales of many thousands of holidaymakers who are stranded at various locations in Europe, most of whom have no idea how or when they will be able to get home again.

When a holiday company collapses ABTA/ATOL usually step in to assist those already on their holiday to get home and to help recover the cost of the holiday for those whose holidays are cancelled. While many travel insurance policies will not provide cover if ‘the tour operator fails to provide the arrangements’, incidents such as this merely highlight the need to have adequate travel insurance cover because, without it, all kinds of things can potentially go wrong.

Do Men Pay More For Life Insurance?

In general, men do end up paying more for term and whole life insurance.  There are many reasons for this, but the bottom line is that life insurance companies see men as a higher risk and believe they will be more likely to pay a death benefit to men.

Not only to men die at a younger age than women, but they tend to live riskier lives.  They can partake in riskier activities such as racing, sky diving, and other adventure sports.  This isnt to say that women do not participate in these activities, but it is more often men.

Men are also more likely to have heart disease, diabetes, stroke and cancer.  Part of this is due to the fact that they are less likely to see the doctor on a regular basis.  Me
