Packing Your EHIC
Depending on where you are travelling to, a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) can be a highly useful thing. This will cover you for state health care in all European Economic Area (EEA) countries, and so if you find yourself injured or ill, you will be able to receive either free or cheaper health care than you otherwise would.
However, you should be warned that an EHIC is not a replacement for travel insurance as it won’t cover the costs for things such as repatriation and sometimes even rescue efforts.
